C-SHIP MICRO Internship Program

Growing out of our College Student Healthcare Internship Program, SVTAHEC’s C-SHIP MICRO pairs students with community-based organizations and institutions to implement projects that address priority health needs.

  • Micro-Internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments
  • Micro-Internships can take place year-round, typically from anywhere as they are done remotely and online
  • Projects usually range from 5-40 hours in duration, lasting from 1 week to 1 month

  • Extends an organization’s capacity and resources
  • Helps to address a priority health need in the community
  • Enables an intern to develop career and technical skills, and to establish a valuable professional connection to an organization and field

Recent projects include

  • Developing online infrastructure for assessing and supporting the rural elderly living alone
  • Creating a social media program for a primary prevention coalition
  • Working with a recovery service to develop online wellness resources for people in recovery
  • Developing at-home exercise and healthy eating information packets for children and families
